One of the recent wildfires in southern California was caused by a boy playing with matches. Officials say the boy was interviewed a day after the Buckweed Fire started. The fire in north Los Angeles county burned more than 38,000 acres and destroyed 21 homes. A spokeswoman for the sheriff's office says the boy admitted to playing with matches and accidentally starting the fire. He's been released to his parents.The boy's name and age have not been released. His case will go to the district attorney's office. It's not clear if the boy was arrested or cited. More than a dozen major wildfires are blamed for killing 14 people, destroying 2100 homes and burning hundreds of square miles from Los Angeles to the Mexican border. Authorities suspect arson in at least one more of the fires. They are looking for the driver of a white Ford F-150 pick-up truck. They are not calling the person a suspect, but say they do want to talk to whoever was behind the wheel of the truck when it was spotted in a canyon about the time a fire broke out in Orange County. Firefighters have surrounded all but four of the blazes and the rest of the wildfires are more than 90 percent contained. The Associated Press.
