A new government study shows, 7 percent of full-time workers battled depression in the past year. According to a new report, personal care workers, like those who provide child care and help the elderly tend to have the highest rates of depression among U.S. workers.
Second on the list, those who prepare and serve food, like cooks, bartenders, waiters and waitresses. And at a tie for third, with the most depressing jobs, health care workers and social workers.
Overall, women are more likely than men to have a major bout of depression, and younger workers have higher rates of depression than their older colleagues. Workers with the lowest rate of depression?? Engineers, architects and surveyors.
